About the Project

From 2020-22, for the Symphony of Sickness series, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Artist Image Resource (A.I.R.) in Pittsburgh to create a series 100 unique, multi layered prints. These prints involve the layering of imagery, in this case illegible logos used by contemporary underground heavy metal bands, to further obscure the written words but to also draw attention to the homogeny of the logos themselves. In addition to the print work done with A.I.R., this series also has manifested more sculptural pieces. The generated imagery was also used to water jet cut Baltic birch plywood into multiple abstracted physical forms. These multiple iterations of the work are part and parcel of my multimedia approach to art making. These additional iterations also enable me to explore and integrate current digital technologies into the larger body of work - Jason Lee.

About Jason Lee

A multimedia sculptor and installation artist, Jason Lee incorporates a wide variety of materials and techniques into his oddly humorous constructions and presentations. In some of Lee's most recent work he utilizes custom fabricated architectural steel elements as well as slip cast porcelain and embossed paper to create his vision of the idealized suburban landscape. His work will be on display later this summer.
