Screenprinting: Tutorial (Single Participant)
4 hour Screenprinting tutorials (or learning blocks) include 3 hours of instruction and 1 hour of open studio time. Materials included are adequate to create a small proof run of prints (2 printing screens, approximately 20 sheets of paper and 2 pints of ink / 2 colors). Instruction includes image prep, screen processing, registration, ink mixing and printing.
Tutorials are designed for single participants but a second person can be added with no charge but only one image will be processed and used for the session. Workshops can be scheduled for multiple people (see "Workshops" ). Images / screens can be added for an extra fee.
AIR schedules tutorials on MWF between the hours of 12:00 noon and 8:00 pm. Follow this link and choose a preferred date/time for your session. Send image files for review if relevant. We will be in touch to finalize dates and times and image requirements.

About Tutorials
AIR offers tailored tutorials (or learning blocks) for artists and others who are looking to gain a functional understanding of various printmaking processes and/or experienced artists who may be looking for assistance expanding their skills in print.
We work to be responsive: Most of the cost for these sessions is the labor (instruction) and the processing and equipment. Once the initial images are processed to screens or plates, and once the initial instruction is provided, studio (and equipment) access and guidance (technical assistance) can be scheduled at a lesser cost. We think of these sessions as “stackable” blocks that can be tailored for the user.
Currently, we can offer blocks in Screenprinting, Relief and Intaglio. Screenprinting is the simplest process to teach and the most popular.
Tutorials are designed for a single student. You can bring a friend if there is only 1 image being processed and printed. 2 or 3 friends can be added with no extra images and extra screens can be made available for a fee.
